Under UK India Education Research Initiative, he has established the largest blood bio repository of stroke in India, in collaboration with Imperial College, London, UK. He has been the national Coordinator of many International Stroke Trials viz. IST, STICH, ENOS etc. His Cochrane review of Surgery in Intracerebral hemorrhage was first to establish the role of surgery in the condition. Dr. Prasad has been a member of the International Advisory Committee, Asia Pacific Forum for Quality improvement in Healthcare Editorial Group of Practical Neurology a British Medical Journal publication Editorial Group, Cochrane ARI Review Group, Australia Infectious Diseases and ARI Review Group of International Cochrane Collaboration and International Clinical Epidemiology Network.
